A meeting was held with DTV Partners on Tuesday, 27th January, 2009.  The meeting was aimed to discuss the status of their activities, problems encountered by them and future plans.  It was decided to hold bi-monthly meeting with DTV Partners.  The next meeting will be held in one of the partners’ offices, such as Aker Solutions in the last week of March, 2009..              The President of Oslo Research Park, Oslo, Norway, visited DTV and met with HE the Rector, Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, Vice Rector, Technology Development & Industrial Relations and the officials of DTV on Wednesday, January 28, 2009.  A presentation ‘Oslo Research Park in Oslo University’ was given in Building 20 Auditorium during 2 P.M – 4 PM, which was attended by KFUPM Faculty Members.            DTV Strategic Committee is formed by HE the Rector.  The objective of this committee is to facilitate the operations and plans of DTV.  This committee was chaired by Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, Vice Rector, TD & IR.  Twelve members from the distinguished KFUPM faculty were nominated.            4. M/s. Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. has signed a contract with KFUPM for building research center in Dhahran Techno-Valley.  HE the Rector and Mr. Sulaiman Towajri signed the contract. M/s. Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. has been allotted 7250 sq.mt. of land for construction.            5. Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, Vice Rector, TD & IR made a presentation on Wednesday, 28th January, 2009, about DTV in Saudi Aramco, R&D, on the invitation of Mr. Omer Abdul Hamid, Manager of Saudi Aramco.  The presentation was well attended and the Q&A session was thought provoking.            6. Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Judaimi, Vice President of Saudi Aramco and his delegation met HE the Rector and KFUPM officials to discuss DTV marketing plan that Saudi Aramco is undertaking to market DTV.  A presentation was given regarding DTV marketing by Saudi Aramco.           7. The University Support Service Committee was formed by Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, Vice Rector, TD & IR. The membership of this committee includes DTV officials and the Director Generals of Maintenance, Security & Safety, Housing & Office Services, Project, Materials and Director, Investment & Resources Development Dept, DTV.            8. A Workshop was held on Innovation Activities by KFUPM faculty and was coordinated by Mr. Steve Tolle of Saudi Aramco in SciTech.           9. Mr. Ahmad Khowaiter, Vice President of King Abdulaziz University of Science and Technology visited DTV and discussed subject of mutual interest with Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, Vice Rector, TD & IR and DTV officials.            10. A delegation of KFUPM, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Faleh Al-Sulaiman, VR, TD & IR, comprising of Chairmen of Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering, Director, CCITR of RI and the faculty members of the Systems Engineering, visited Yokogawa.  The objective of the visit was to identify research areas of common interest between Yokogawa and KFUPM.  Four different research areas were identified and Dr. Fouad Al-Sunni was assigned to follow up this collaborative research program.Ghazala Law firm is working with DTV on Legal issues            Physical details of DTV administration and other DTV owned buildings in DTV site are provided for RFQ from international designers by Technical Affairs            Saudi Society of Physicist has requested 3000 sq.mt. of land in DTV to build offices and research centers.           12. Saudi Aramco is considering establishing entrepreneurship center in DTV and the discussion is on allocating the center in the Old Administration Building after refurbishing and renewal.summer activities in Scietech            13. Tanaris Company is in the final stage of signing the contract to occupy offices and laboratory space in DTV.;            -:: -->
