Q: How are you
compensated for your services?
A: We are not a commercial entity seeking pure profit. We have a
developmental role to help the KSA technology industry. Our services are
highly subsidized, and come at a much lower cost compared with the actual
market cost for a similar set of services. The cost of our services will
depend upon our evaluation of the Incubation candidates and their logistical
and strategic support services needs.
Q: How do you evaluate opportunities and projects?
A: Before we admit an incubation candidate, we take several steps to ensure
the viability of the business. We assess a multitude of criteria including
the product or service offering, the market opportunity, the management
team, and the fit with our business objectives and support services.
Q: How do you deliver your services to member
companies?
A: We directly immerse our management and advisors into member companies as
they assemble their own teams. We dedicate the necessary assistance to take
a business concept and quickly launch it into the market as a thriving
business - including logistical support, and collaboration with teams of
experts in business development, marketing, human resources management, and
other areas.
Q: Do you have a focus in terms of the business
that you incubate?
A: We focus on companies in the technology sector and other high-growth
industries that are technology driven. Our companies are typically KSA
companies at their early stage of development. We have particular experience
in oil & gas as well as manufacturing technology driven businesses.
Q: How do I apply for the Incubator?
A: As a first step, we require entrepreneurs or start-ups to fill out our
preliminary application questionnaire. We will review of the application and
may invite successful candidates for screening interviews. Qualifying
candidates will usually be requested to submit a business plan which will be
evaluated according to our internal process.
Q: I have a good idea, but I do not have a business
plan. Can I still apply?
A: Yes. First, please fill out our questionnaire. Successful candidates may
be assigned an advisor to help them develop their business plan.
Q: How do I guarantee the confidentiality of my
idea or business plan?
A: We maintain strict confidentiality over our candidates. Only our
management and advisors have access to your business plan.
Q: My startup is based outside of KSA. Can you
still help me?
A: Yes. We also help KSA expatriates and international companies wishing to
establish presence in KSA and invest in the KSA technology industry through
our Incubator and services.
Q: I don’t need office space but would like to
benefit from the strategic and operational support services of the
Incubator. Can I still apply for that?
A: Yes. Upon evaluation of your application, we will determine if your
qualify for our services and maybe able to work with you in a “virtual
incubation model”.
Q: How long will the Incubation last?
A: There is not set date of graduation from the incubator. Each member
company is treated individually. However, Incubation experiences have shown
that a successful incubation usually takes between 6-24 months.
Q: How long will it take for you to review my idea
and admit me to the Incubator?
A: We commit to reviewing all applications and business plans submitted as
per our guidelines. You will hear back from our team whether or not we
decide to pursue your business. Although there is no set timeline for a
final decision, we anticipate that it will take between 4-8 weeks for
successful candidates to be admitted to the Incubator from the day of
submitting their preliminary application.
