Technology Development & Transfer Officer: Main Responsibilities: Participate in setting product direction and anticipate future technology development and application. Work closely with product/business development teams. Develop/manage a university strategic technology roadmap/innovation portfolio and working closely with executive team on corporate strategy and direction. Develop/leverage partnerships and strategic alliances with various technology users/customers. Clearly communicate strengths of the University's technology and platform to prospective clients, partners and analysts. Effectively communicate with the marketing and technology sales personnel on changes in existing systems, products and services to position the business for competitive advantage. Serves as the principal advisor to Vice Rectorship for Technology development and Industrial Relations on technology initiatives. Provide a main role in the continuous improvement of university technology business processes and technology infrastructures. Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate has: Three or more years of technology systems development/implementation experience and a track record of technology development. Ability to translate business needs into technology system/product solutions Vision and strategy for a fast paced technology start-up operation. A track record of technology strategy/portfolio development and product execution. Ability to create an enhanced, efficient, integrated model of technology service and support that will complement the university's position as a leading research university. Education, training and experience: Master's degree (in a relevant field of inquiry : Gas, Oil and Petrochemicals (Upstream/Down Stream) and Information Technology and Communication) from an accredited college or university (UK or US) with an emphasis on the experience in: Development and administration of management analysis, budget, planning for technology projects and research-based innovation. Contract and vendor management and entrepreneurial activities. Managing technology and implementing systems in diverse environments. Understanding and knowledge of technology applications of applied/basic research and development.
Technology Business Developer: Main Responsibilities: Support the capture planning for opportunities in technologies and program management for professional services. Support initiative/proposal activities, marketing, communications, competitive analysis, and business development. Identify and participate, as required, in marketing events such as trade shows and seminars that support technology business capture objectives. As required for successful capture, the individual will also participate in proposal development and will identify and qualify prospective teaming partners when necessary. Networking responsibilities may include negotiating marketing and teaming opportunities with venture capitalists/potential customers and future users for proposed technologies to be developed. Work closely with opportunity originator/proposal manager to assure the customer perspective is maintained and developed Preparing win/loss analysis including technology proposal/process improvements with proposal manager Identifying technology business opportunities and resources Working with the technology development teams in the preparation of strategy, teaming, solution development. Qualifications: A Master’s degree and have 3 years or more experience in managing and leading business developing/capturing activities. Must have proven track record in capturing programs and developing winning proposals and managing proposal activities; and have demonstrated capability for oral and written communication with different levels of technology businesses and customer/user management. Candidate must possess excellent analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills Must have the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, technical staff, managers and peers.
Technology Product Developer: Main Responsibilities: Create of physical, functional products/devices that meet a user's or stake holder’s value expectation. Assist in developing research about integrated product development. Assist the university inventors to meet the emerging needs of industry and to develop the outcome of university engineering and designer into more accomplished practice Managing in the product development process. Qualifications: A Master’s degree from US/UK accredited University/College in product development which usually is jointly offered by a department of mechanical/manufacturing engineering and a school of design, with support from a graduate school of industrial administration. Skills and knowledge for development of services, interfaces, and the general creation of any product that meets a value expectation. Specifically, he needs to assist the developers in: Identifying the product to be built Identifying the specific assets required to build that product Performing any necessary customization of each core asset not addressed by its attached processes Integrate components. Create the plans required to develop a certain product (preparing lists of materials, cost estimates, etc.) Having a general understanding of the core assets and how they are used to construct products.
IP Officer (University, Intellectual Assets Office): Main Responsibilities: Fully conversant with patent formalities at US PTO. Knowledge of EPO and JPO is desirable. To coordinate, monitor and review various aspects of documents prepared by legal counsel or inventors regarding the preparation, filing, prosecution, issuance and maintenance of patents, including ensuring the timely filing of documents and required responses. Ability to conduct in-depth preliminary patentability searches to check the novelty and non-obviousness of patent applications. Receive record and process documents from the U.S. PTO regarding the filing, prosecution, appeal, issuance and registration of patents. To maintain docket system, electronic and hard copy files of issued and pending patents with the status details. Strong communication skills in technical legal writing for patent prosecution and preparing responses to U.S. PTO Office Actions. Have experience of working with computerized patent record systems. To be familiar with deposit account administration with the law firms. Produce various status reports for the patent applications in process. Administer the timely payment of fees and the filing of necessary affidavits of use to maintain patents and patent applications. The ability to work accurately without detailed supervision and a willingness and ability to learn new skills as required. Qualifications Masters degree in IP Science. Knowledge of U.S. legal information sources, especially U.S. Code pertaining to patent law and intellectual property rights Strong background of in-depth research of patent literature At least 3 years work experience in patent prosecution. |
