Baker Petrolite considering establishing a global research center in DTV

A high-ranking delegation from the Baker Petrolite including, the Vice-President of the company Mr. John Prescott, the Director of Research and Development Dr. Harthlee Downes, and applications engineer, Mr. Muhammad Arshad Khan, met the officials of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) to access the programs and facilities. The delegation was received by Dr. Faleh Abdullah bin Sulaiman, Vice-Rector (TD&IR), KFUPM and Supervisor, Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV). The meeting was attended by Dr. Halim Hamid Rizvi, Assistant Supervisor, DTV, Dr. Ahmad bin Saad al-Qahtani, Director, Liaison Office, Acting Director Consulting Services Center, and Dr. Iyad bin Talal Zaharna, Acting Director, Innovation Center. Mr. Prescott discussed the possibility of establishing a research center in DTV for the development of chemicals, and the extent of benefit that will accrue to the professors and university students through the participation in scientific research. Dr. Faleh said that, this visit comes as part of the outcome of the strategic cooperation between Saudi Aramco and KFUPM.

For his part, Dr. Halim mentioned that, the company has found fertile ground for investment in the university, through the reputation of the university and the distinctive characteristics of Saudi Aramco.
