Welcome
Establishing a world-class environment that aspires innovation and
invigorates entrepreneurship was the main objective for KFUPM behind
establishing Dhahran Techno-Valley. The Dhahran Techno-Valley
structure for innovation includes all the necessary entities that
can deal with the different modes of innovation, which include a
diversified range of ideas. Both the Innovation Center (IC) and the
Business Incubator (BI) entities work harmonically to manage a wide
spectrum of developed technology exploitation. The KFUPM Roadmap for
Innovation facilitates the flow of technology from University
laboratories and research centers to the knowledge-based and
technology marketplace. The IC supports new concepts from the idea
generation stage through the prototyping steps until reaching to the
proof of concept and including the intellectual property protection.
The BI handles all the proceedings necessary for commercializing the
new technology products from initiating business plans through
networking with sponsors and venture capitalists until the formation
of start up technology companies. The Innovation Road Map of KFUPM
describes all the possible roads, distances, conditions and
connections between where the entrepreneurs are and where they want
to go. It provides not one, but many alternative paths to future
innovation and all University entrepreneurs and innovators are
invited to follow the routes that suit more their mode of
innovation.
